Facilities: Introduction

The Canterbury Enterprise Hub is a unique and exciting location, designed specifically for science and technology start-up companies.

Located on the grounds of the University of Kent Campus having breath-taking views of Canterbury Cathedral, The Canterbury Enterprise Hub has two hatcheries with accommodation suitable for ICT, biomedical and nanotechnology start-up companies. The biohatchery is a joint venture between the Canterbury and Sittingbourne EnteCathedral Viewrprise Hubs.

The region's large skill base has attracted innovative, leading edge organisations at the forefront of research and development, together with fast-track companies from the UK and overseas, using the hub as the ideal catalyst for business start-ups.

About 5,000 sq ft of office and dry/wet laboratory suites has been completed to date, including air-conditioning. A further phase of development is currently underway and will extend the total development to approximately 190,000 sq ft, starting with an innovation centre of 35,000 sq ft to open at the end of 2006.
