Turning Knowledge into Enterprise

Services: Business Link Innovation Clinic

The Innovation Clinic is a confidential and impartial free one to one meeting between your business and one of Business Link's experienced Business Advisers and qualified Engineers.

The meetings take place at the Canterbury Enterprise Hub on the first Wednesday of every month and are focussed on providing your company (or Start Up idea) with the information necessary for you to make strategic decisions about the future.

As well as providing information, the discussions will also diagnose future business and technical needs and ways to meet them.

Some of the typical areas for discussion are:

  1. Intellectual Property Rights.  Focus on the optimum commercial use of IP for your company’s circumstances taking into account your funding, maturity and long-term goals.
  2. Funding.  Review some of the main Research & Development funding and provide detailed assistance on the DTI’s R&D grants.
  3. Market and Technology Feasibility Assessment.  Fine-tune your marketing and technical needs. If you have a technology gap or need World-Class experts for technology development or testing, we can identify organisations to help via SEEDA’s Innovation Advisory Service. A huge resource of free or highly subsidised assistance exists via the Government funded R&D establishments (e.g. the National Physical Laboratory) to help you in your development.
  4. Product Development.  Use the network of contacts and experience to help you develop your product or service in the most cost effective way.

Contact the hub to book a place at the next available clinic.
